Today's lighting control networks are often a mix of equipment from several manufacturers using incompatible protocols, as well as different distribution methods such as wireless and wires. The increasing use of a multitude of Ethernet based protocols on the controller side and the continued prevalence of DMX on the device side, as well as the addition of bi-directional communication such as RDM, have significantly increased the complexity of lighting control networks.
Lighting professionals are often forced to invest in parallel infrastructure for wired and wireless systems, run different networks for each equipment manufacturer, and have different control interfaces for different networks - when all this should be one unified network with one user interface.
To make lighting control easy, efficient and affordable LumenRadio now offers CRMX Unity; a platform for unified networking and system management that enables:
- Entire system visualization, configuration, addressing, feedback, and alarms with all connected RDM enabled devices under one interface,
- Total transparency in connectivity between industry standard, manufacturer proprietary, and public domain protocols,
- Mixing wires and wireless connections seamlessly in the same network.
The Unity concept is comprised of two parts: SuperNova and CRMX RDM nodes.
SuperNova features a graphical user interface that allows both overall system visualization and individual bi-directional communication with, and control over, every connected RDM enabled device. SuperNova with its advanced RDM and Ethernet functionality and support for CRMX Unity and wired RDM communication is available free of charge from the download page.
CRMX RDM nodes provide the necessary wireless and wired hardware interfaces for the CRMX Unity platform. Contact your local CRMX distributor to acquire the optional Unity functionality for your new or existing CRMX RDM units.
LumenRadio intends to expand the Unity platform in the future to continue making networking easy for lighting professionals.
